The world premiere of an award-winning play by Electric Theatre Company, Downtown Scranton's professional Equity theatre.
Nancy Hasty’s dark comedy -- the first place winner of the 2009 Jerry Kaufman Playwriting Award in NYC -- will receive its world premiere production at the Electric Theater Company in downtown Scranton, March 10 - 28, 2010. David Zarko, Producing Artistic Director of ETC, will direct the play which features Maura Malloy, Jerry Durkin, Samuel Adams and Jennifer Terrell.

On Saturday, March 20th, area teachers are invited to attend a special workshop and performance conducted by playwright Nancy Hasty and director David Zarko. Teachers may receive four Act 48 credits for this workshop.
About the play...
Geri and Bev are backyard buddies. The focus of the friendship is a mutual fixation on Geri's unusual and intriguing next door neighbor. Curiosity eventually drives Bev to enlist her son, Benny, as a spy. The young man finds the assignment distasteful, and Geri begins to see how she has used the neighbor as a distraction from the tedious contours of her own life. Outrageously funny, the play will also touch audiences where it hurts.

Act 48 participants will enjoy:
  • 5:30 - 6:00 p.m. - An introduction and a tour of The Electric Theater housed in the old Hotel Jermyn, by David Zarko
  • 6:00 - 6:45 p.m. - Theater workshop with playwright, and PCA artist, Nancy Hasty
